    "A Chance To Say Goodbye"

Will this be the last plane ride in your swing?
    The harvest moon has come
    And with her sadness brings
My mom says it's too cold to play
    So I'm just waiting here
    Thinking on our sunny days

But now there's autumn in your eyes
I just wanted a chance to say goodbye
    A final burst of summertime
I just wanted a chance to say goodbye

    There's nothing quite as hard
    Or easier than time
    My world is coming down
And no one seems to mind
Where I once played there's no sound
And all your pretty leaves have fallen to the ground

And now there's autumn in your eyes
I just wanted a chance to say goodbye
    A sad farewell to summertime
I just wanted a chance to say goodbye

From the north the icy breath is all around me
    Blowing and snowing
    Changing you
    (by Children 18:3)

    Bye Summer!

These past few days have had some nice things in them. =-) Yesterday, I had Shannon and Avery over for dinner and a movie, Amanda joining us after dinner. Avery and I got to mess around on guitar a little bit before dinner, and that was fun. She got her first (I think) taste of electric. I'm such a troublemaker.

After dinner we all watched Vantage Point. I had wanted to show the Ellises this movie for awhile. Based on their engross-ed-ness and extreme frustration whenever the plot would start over (if you've seen it, you know what I mean) I would say that they enjoyed it.

This morning, while not something all people would consider "nice", was Mr. Osbourne's memorial service. So many people were there that they ran out of programs, which I guess is a good problem to have for a memorial service. Several co-workers/friends/family members spoke, the Handmaids danced, Brittany and Mrs. Schmitt sang while Shannon played, and Travis and I did "Breakfast Table" by Chris Rice. I think Mr. Osbourne will be missed a lot, and not just by those you would expect him to be missed by.

And.. tonight was the 4-H summer party.. and whoops I have to go!

Don't expect to see me online for awhile. Call if you really need me.

  • It certainly has been awhile since my last post. Hopefully, most of you know a lot of what has happened in my life since then, so I don't think I shall try to summarize it all.

As of right now I'm with the (nuclear) family in my uncle's lake house in New Hampshire. It's a little tiny two bedroom house, though not without all the amenities one would expect at home. A look out the back window shows that the lake is just a short walk away.

We left Saturday morning at about eight-fifteen, so it's nice to finally be here. I wasn't sure that I would be able to access the internet here, but obviously I can. All the same, I don't suppose I shall be on quite as much as I have been this Summer. (Oh, what will you poor people do without me virtually mumbling incessantly in your direction? ;-P)

(Writing much on here makes me nervous, as I am unsure of my formatting skills)
